More than just cleaning your teeth at Aurora Family Dentistry
As a part of the Dental exam, our Hygienist will clean your teeth, taking away any built-up plaque or stains on your teeth. She will also check the health of your gums, and the mouth in general for any signs of concern that need to be taken care of. She will evaluate whether you are in any danger of tooth rot, and gum or bone infection. She will also assess your requirement for a fluoride treatment.
She will also demonstrate proper brushing and flossing techniques if needed.
Finally, a complete Dental exam will also include X-rays.
Medications and advice
During the course of this dental exam, your Dentist will speak with you about other health issues that you may be experiencing, and the medicines regime that you might be on. Your Dentist will advise you on how some of these medical conditions or medicines might impact your oral health for example by causing a Dry Mouth condition.
